Shutterfly

So I've always been a huge fan of Shutterfly. They have amazing photobooks and cards and I have found their shipping to be quick and their customer service great! I've made several photobooks in the past for gifts and they were always a huge hit. They're super easy to make from your uploaded photos and a wonderful memory to treasure. I want to get these cute photomagnets for some stocking stuffers!

They are currently giving away 50 free Christmas cards to bloggers! Check it out here.

I love Christmas time so much. Everything about it. The colder weather, snuggling up in front of our fireplace, decorating the tree and wrapping presents. I love the excitement of my Children on Christmas morning as they open their gifts and I love most of all being with my family. I send Christmas cards out almost every year, and I love receiving cards from new friends and old. My favorites are always the Christmas cards with family photos. I love to see how friends and families have changed over the past year. I'm trying to decide what kind of card to send this year (I know I'm getting later and later) but I haven't been able to narrow down with all the choices they are offering. Here are just a few of my favorites:

Here's a link to go make your own christmas cards:

BR-6 Frank's Rickrack

This one took me a while. I redrafted the triangle so that the center piece came to a point. This was a little more like the one in the quilt. I'm happy with the result.

Dear Jane Progress

Here's my progress so far. It's fun to see it slowly coming together!

Behind on blogging....

So here's more of my Dear Jane progress. I haven't quite got the hang of blogging often. :)

More Dear Jane

I'm about 4 or 5 blocks behind the Dear Jane blog. Partly because of our vacation to Disney to celebrate our daughter's 4th birthday and partly because I'm SO slow at applique. I'm hoping to catch up a little this weekend.

B-6 Wild Goose Chase

Once again I did the block in the wrong color and had to redo it. The blue one is my first attempt and the pink is my second.

I changed the way that I'm tracking what colors I'm doing. Hopefully this will be the last wrong color! :)

Blocks Redone

I've finally gotten around to posting some of my blocks. Here are the ones I had to redo in the correct color.

I must really like green......

Because I've already done two Dear Jane blocks green that should have been yellow. I guess I could swap them around, but the perfectionist in me will probably re-do them.

More Dear Jane Blocks

I've been working more on my Dear Jane blocks. I was kind of dreading B-3 Mirror Image. I hate piecing curves (especially after almost completing a version of this quilt). So I decided to use a different method that I saw on TV here. I thought it worked pretty well, but the fabric didn't release from the freezer paper very easily with the glue stick. Maybe I used too much glue. I'm still pretty happy with the way it turned out.

Dear Jane update

I've completed a couple more blocks for my DJ quilt and I'm especially happy with this last one. I really love how much the blue and white contrasts. I'm using bright rainbow colors and doing a modified version of Jane's Trip Around the World style.

I've really enjoyed learning how to applique as well. I never thought I would like it because I thought it would be tedious, but it gives me something to do while watching TV with DH.
